New Sculpture by Mark Totan, Plus paintings by Sheila Adams, Larry Rich, Real Fournier, Anita Skinner, and Jonathon Earl Bowser
Mark Totan was born November 11th, 1951 and originally from the small, Eastern Arctic community of Igloolik, Nunavut. Mark is a self taught artist who has been carving in a variety of stone and antler mediums since 1990. Each carving is original and depicts some feature of the lifestyle or history of his people.
Totan begins the carving process by roughing out a block of stone with a hammer, chisel and hand axe; he then uses files, rasps and sandpaper for finishing. The final touch consists of heating and rubbing the carving with wax or oil to accent the natural grain of the stone. His carvings are displayed and sold in various galleries throughout Canada and the American mid-west. In addition, his works form a part of numerous private and corporate collections throughout the world.

New in the Gallery: Regina Seib, George Lesniewicz
Regina Seib was born in a small village in East Germany, immigrating to Canada at age seven with her mother and grandmother. Her new life in Canada began in a Saskatchewan farming community. She explored her rural surroundings with a keen curiosity and wonder, and then gradually, the diversity of rugged landscapes in the western Canadian provinces.
Regina is energized and pushes the boundaries of her multifaceted ability in her approach and portrayal of diverse subject matter. She has chosen to develop this diversity and embrace it as a unique gift and asset. She paints with remarkable energy, allowing the mood or subject to dictate her style, feeling each work deserves that kind of commitment, liberty and integrity. With this unique gift of diversity, she will surprise you! The vibrancy of her colours and bold brushwork, evident in her work, is indicative of the freedom she has in expressing herself.
Regina is pleased to have her works in private and corporate collections in Canada and Abroad.
